Jelly Jar Scents

1 cup simmering liquid potpourri
2 pkgs knox gelatin*

1 Tbsp salt or Vodka**

    (to help prevent mold growth)

Heat 1/2 cup potpourri and salt in saucepan. Stir in gelatin until dissolved. Remove from heat, stir in salt or vodka and remaining potpourri. Fill jar with mixture, refrigerate for 2 hours, or allow to set overnight on counter. Cover with plastic wrap until ready to use.

Recipe can be multiplied as needed.

You can add items (silk flowers, etc.) before it sets to decorate.  Use a bit of lace on the top and tie with a ribbon.

This evaporates, so keep a lid or plastic wrap on it until ready to use!

*  When shopping, note that there are 4 pkgs of gelatin in a box.

** When I made this, the salt drastically changed the color of the gel.  The second batch, I used everclear, figuring the Vodka was simply a clear liquor.

I have to say that I'm not all that impressed with this craft.  The first batch I made, without salt or liquor, liquified in about two weeks.  The second batch, made with salt,  liquified some too.  I didn't keep any of the ones I made with Everclear to know whether that liquified as well.
