Welcome!

Alright, if you're here, you probably are stuck with a timeshare that you don't want anymore, have discovered that you can't sell it, and think that you are doomed to years of maintenance fees and property taxes.

At least, that's where I ended up.  Most timeshare sales places run scams asking for an "appraisal", usually $300 or $400.  Everything I read said they never sold.  And, they were the only ones telling me my timeshare was worth thousands of dollars.  The people with no upfront fees were much more blunt about the value of it.  One told me to give it away, buyer pays closing costs.

Then, I read an article about timeshares, and charitable donations.  I did a search, and there are lots of places that let you donate your timeshare.  They may use them, or sell them.  I chose the German Language School for Children Seattle, simply because that was who was mentioned in the article.

What a relief!  I truly was beginning to believe I would never get rid of it, and would have to pay the annual fees forever or trash my credit and let them foreclose.   It was a very painless process, I faxed my deed to a lawyer office in Florida, and they mailed me a deed transfer to sign.  I forwarded that to the school, and got a copy of the filed deed and my receipt for tax purposes.  The school pays for the lawyer, filing fees, and takes care of notifying the resort.  And, I get a tax deduction for charitable donations!

I recommend you consider this if you find yourself with a timeshare and nothing to do with it.  It worked well for me.
